OK, people, we need to talk—y’all have to stop paying me in Jefferson’s Ocean. I have way too much fun making things and way too much fun drinking the proceeds (not at the same time, obviously).
This project started as yet another “Hey, do you think you could…?” moment.
My good friend and former deputy, Ed, came to me with an idea—because many do.
"My daughter-in-law is about to have a baby, and Tammie and I were wondering… Since my son loves to play guitar, maybe you could make a guitar-shaped frame that holds 13 pictures?"
"Hmm… OK. How big? No bigger than a real guitar, right? And why 13 pictures?"
"One for each month of the first year—and one for his current picture."
"Got it. What type of guitar?"
"Uh… I’ll need to get back to you on that."
A weekend or two later, the models were done. We managed to fit all 13 pictures without making them too small, plus left space for a plaque (which, by the way, wasn’t my department).
A few weeks after that, payment was received, and it was whisked away to its new home
Last I heard, everyone was happy and healthy in Colorado. Mission accomplished.
